Tuesday Tsotchkes: Oooh! Silly Putty and Pigs in Sunglasses
The mood and the tsotchkes were decidedly upbeat on the AdTech exhibition floor today. Give-away goodies ranged from a lovely sunglass-wearing piggy bank from Cool Savings
to free lunch of buffalo wings from Buffalo, NY-based pay-per-click search engine Kanoodle.
Tsotchkes of the day:
- silly putty eggs from Lyris
- a mirror from Premium Network that you stick on the side of your computer so you can see who’s coming and pretend to be working. They’ll also send you a pizza before they send you their proposal. (See RF Pizza
- a personal fan and a black t-shirt (the team color in New York City) from Blow Search
- a chance to win $10,000 in Google Advertising from Google
- a travel clock from Contextual Net When I asked the booth rep why the clock, - which doesn’t have the company name or any identification at all - he said “I don’t know because I wasn’t involved in that executive decision. Maybe becaause of the timeliness of the ads?” Yeah, that’s it.
- Gigex and Hoover’s gave out really nice spiral bound notebooks with heavy black cardboard covers and tasteful logos. Between these and the Yahoo writing pads, there’ll be no need to buy notebooks for ages.
Not exactly a tsotchke, but fun, was live lunch-time entertainment by Digital Grit, who had a charming young magician who also juggled swords and did card tricks. I got some more juggling balls too. (Lots of nephews.)
Lamest give-a-way of the day was Click Track’s white socks, “because we knock your socks off so you need another pair.” Bada bing.
