Color, Curves, Culinary Delights Infuse Terra Nikki Beach Party

Maybe it’s the heat. Maybe it’s the culture. Maybe it’s the low threadcount style of dress among the Miami-attendees. Maybe it’s something else, but it’s nothing like New York.

Anyway, now that we have that out of the way, we can move on to more important things such as how great the Terra-sponsored party at Miami’s Nikki Beach was and why Miami ad:tech parties now own the top spots on the ad:tech party quality scale. The venue’s orange-curtained, white-couched interior was comfortably inviting. The food was plentiful and delectably fulfilling. The drinks were whatever you wanted them to be. The music was great. The venue was elegant. The service was superb. The beach-side atmosphere was unlike anything you will find in New York. The wait staff smiled and actually conversed pleasantly with you. And the windblown palm trees alongside white-sheeted double beach beds in the sand… well, you don’t get that very often.

Even the stage dancers were elegant and refined as opposed to the usual thong-clad, hookeresque, air-humping dancers we see at so many other ad:tech parties. Oh, but don’t take that as some sort o suggestion we stop that sort of dancer activity. By all means, keep it coming. We’re just saying, the two styles are worlds apart.

Part of the night was spent with Syntryx VP of Sales Cris Graham rapping about the industry, expensive pens, misconceptions that come from buying someone a drink and Miami’s bootyliciousness.

Also, we met a guy from SAP who, long ago, invented some form of voice recognition. We did our very best to pay attention, but it wasn’t easy, as he stood next to a friend of his who wore a red dress designed to upstage men who spoke of things such as voice recognition. For all we know, he may have simply invented the popsicle stick.

You just had to be there. Maybe you will be next year when ad:tech makes it’s return to Miami for it’s second outing. Until then, happy marketing.
